Leave a group
Step away from a group you're in, and what happens to the photos you added.
Updated July 9, 2026
You can leave any group you’re a member of, at any time.
How to leave
Leave from your account settings:
- Open Settings. On a computer, click the menu (the ⋯ icon) next to your name at the bottom-left of the sidebar and choose Settings; on your phone, tap More, then Settings.
- Go to the Organizations tab.
- Find the group in your list and choose Leave.
You can also leave from a group’s Members screen, where non-owners have a Leave Organization button.
Once you leave, you lose access to that group’s collections and photos. You can be invited back later if you change your mind.
What happens to your photos
The photos and videos you added stay in the group. Leaving doesn’t remove your contributions, so the group’s history stays complete for everyone else. If you had used Photos of Me, your matches from that group are cleared.
If you want your contributed photos taken down as well, remove them before you leave or ask an admin in the group to remove them.
If you’re the owner
An owner can’t simply leave, because a group always needs an owner. First transfer ownership to another member. If you’d rather shut the group down entirely, an owner can cancel and delete it from the group’s billing settings.
Leaving vs. deleting your account
Leaving affects one group only. If you want to remove your whole Fika account, see delete your account.
