Delete your account

Permanently delete your Fika account and what happens to your groups and photos.

Updated July 9, 2026

You can permanently delete your Fika account at any time. This is final, so read this first.

Before you can delete

If you own any groups, you have to deal with them first. Fika won’t delete your account while you still own a group, because that group would be left without an owner. For each group you own, either transfer it to someone else or delete the group. Once you own no groups, you can continue.

Delete your account

  1. Open Settings: on a computer, click the menu (the ⋯ icon) next to your name at the bottom-left of the sidebar and choose Settings; on your phone, tap More, then Settings. Choose Delete account at the bottom of the list.
  2. Read the warning, then type DELETE to confirm.
  3. Choose to delete. Your account is removed right away, you’re signed out, and you won’t be able to sign in again.

There’s no waiting period and no undo. Deletion happens immediately.

What happens to your data

  • Groups you were a member of: your membership ends, but the photos and videos you added stay in those groups, shown as from a deleted user. This keeps each group’s history intact for everyone else.
  • Your personal data: your name and email are cleared from your account record, and your profile photo, stars, and activity are removed.
  • Face data: if you used Photos of Me, your reference photos, the data built from them, and your matches are permanently deleted.

If you only want to step away from one group rather than delete everything, see leave a group instead.
