A small team building the photo home groups deserve.
Fika started with a problem we had ourselves: the photos a group makes together end up scattered across everyone’s phones, and the one place they used to live is gone.
Why we built Fika
For years, plenty of groups kept their shared photos on Shutterfly’s Share Sites. When that shut down in 2023, those spaces vanished, and with them the simplest way for a team, a troop, or a camp to keep its memories together. The groups we were in were some of the ones that got burned, left without the shared home our photos had lived in for years. Nothing else we tried quite fit, so we started building one.
Fika is that replacement, rebuilt for how groups actually share photos now: everyone adding from their phones, organized by season and event, and private to the people who were actually there.
Small on purpose
We’re a small team, and we plan to stay focused. That means we’d rather do a few things really well than a hundred things halfway. It also means that when you email us, one of the people who built the thing you’re writing about is the person writing back.
Built to stay
We’ve been on the wrong side of a shutdown, so this part isn’t abstract for us. Our business is boring on purpose: you pay for storage, and that’s the whole model. A company that earns its keep in an one honest and predictable way is one that can still be here years from now, when your group sits down to look back at this season.
Fika isn’t finished, and we hope it never feels that way.
