Invite your members

Send an email invite or a shareable link to bring people into your group.

Updated July 9, 2026

Owners and admins can invite people to a group. Members can invite too, but only if the owner has turned that on.

Find the Invites screen

Open your group’s admin area, then the Invites tab:

  • On a computer, choose Organization in the left sidebar to open your group’s tools, then select the Invites tab across the top.
  • On your phone, tap Manage in the bottom bar, then the Invites tab.

Choose Create Invite to start one.

Two ways to bring people in

  • Email invite: send an invitation straight to someone’s email address. Each email invite is for one person and can be used once. The invite will only work for an account with that email address.
  • Shareable link: create a link you can drop into a group chat or a text. Anyone with the link can join, up to any limit you set.

For either one, choose the role new people should get: member (view and add photos) or viewer (view-only). See roles explained. When someone opens the invite, they sign in or create an account and join.

Settings you can put on an invite

  • Expiration: every invite has an expiration. Pick a preset like 7 or 30 days, or set it to never expire.
  • Max uses: on a shareable link, cap how many people can join with it. Email invites are always single use.

You can revoke any invite from the same screen, which stops it from being used again. Owners and admins can revoke any invite; members can revoke the ones they created.

Approving who joins

By default, people who join through a shareable link land in a waiting room, and an owner or admin approves them before they’re in. People you invite directly by email skip the waiting room and join right away. To review people waiting, open the Members tab and choose Waiting Room. You can turn the waiting room off in your group’s settings. See manage or remove members.

Joining with a group password

Separately from invites, your group can turn on a shared organization password in its settings. Anyone who knows that password and the organization’s slug (found underneath the group’s name on the Organization page) can join. Users who join via this method will end up in the waiting room if it’s enabled, and will join with the role set alongside the password in settings. This is a group-wide setting rather than something set on an individual invite, so you change or turn it off from your group’s settings when you need to.
