Add photos and videos

Upload from your computer or phone. Photos and videos are kept at full quality.

Updated July 9, 2026

Anyone with a member or admin role can add photos and videos to the group. Viewers can see everything but don’t upload. See roles explained.

Open a collection first

Photos always live in a collection, so open one before you upload. In the left sidebar (on a computer) or from your group’s home, choose the collection you want to add to, or create a new one.

From your computer

Once you’re in a collection:

  1. Choose the Upload button at the top of the collection, or just drag photos and videos from your computer onto the page and drop them.
  2. Pick your files (or drop them) and the upload begins.
  3. Uploads run in the background. Large batches keep going even as you move around the app.

From your phone

Open a collection, tap the menu at the top, and choose Upload Photos to add straight from your camera roll.

Supported files

Fika accepts common photo formats (JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, AVIF, and HEIC from iPhones) and video formats (MP4, MOV, M4V, AVI, MKV, and WebM). HEIC photos are converted to widely compatible JPEGs on your device before they upload, so they open anywhere.

Photos can be up to 100 MB each and videos up to 5 GB. For the full list and limits, see supported files and sizes.

Full quality, no squishing

Your original photos and videos are stored without extra compression, so everything from the trip keeps its detail. That original counts toward your group’s storage.

”Processing” after upload

Right after upload, an item may briefly show as processing while Fika prepares the versions used for fast browsing. This usually finishes in moments; very large videos can take a little longer. If something seems stuck, see upload problems.

Next: organize your photos into collections.
