Sign in and out

Sign in with your email and password on a computer, on your phone's browser, or in the Fika Photos app.

You use the same Fika account everywhere, so one sign-in gets you into every group you belong to, on every device. There are three ways to reach Fika: a web browser on a computer, a web browser on your phone, and the Fika Photos app for iPhone and Android.

Sign in

On a computer

  1. Go to the Fika web app at app.fikaphotos.com.
  2. Enter your email and password and choose Sign in.

In a phone browser

Go to app.fikaphotos.com and sign in the same way you would on a computer. Fika fits itself to the smaller screen, with a bar along the bottom instead of the sidebar.

In the Fika Photos app

  1. Open the app and tap Sign In.
  2. A secure browser window opens for you to enter your email and password, or continue with Google or Apple.
  3. Once you’re signed in, the window closes and you’re returned to the app.

Signing in through a browser window is deliberate: it means the app never handles your password, and it works the same way whether you use a password or a connected Google or Apple account.

If you haven’t confirmed your email yet, you’ll be sent to verify it first. If you’ve forgotten your password, use the Forgot password? link on that screen. See reset a forgotten password.

Sign in with Google or Apple

If you created your account with Google or Apple, or connected one to it, choose Continue with Google or Continue with Apple instead of typing a password. It signs you straight in. This works in every browser and in the app. See update your profile to manage connected accounts.

Staying signed in

Fika keeps you signed in on each device you use, so you don’t have to log in every visit. You can be signed in on several devices at once, for example your laptop, your phone’s browser, and the app. Each counts as its own session. To see and manage them, see manage your signed-in devices.

After a significant amount of time has passed, or after a period of inactivity, you will be automatically signed out for security and will have to sign in again.

Sign out

On a computer

Look at the bottom-left of the sidebar, click the menu (the ⋯ icon) next to your name, and choose to log out.

In a phone browser

Tap More in the bottom bar, then choose Logout.

In the Fika Photos app

Open the Settings tab and choose Sign Out at the bottom.

That ends the session on the device you’re using, and only that one. Signing out of the app does not sign you out in a browser, and the other way round.

If you’re ever signed out unexpectedly with a note that you were signed out from another device, it means that session was ended from your Active sessions screen, which is a normal way to sign out a device you no longer use.

Trouble signing in

  • “Invalid email or password” means the email or password didn’t match. Try resetting your password.
  • After several failed tries, sign-in pauses briefly for security. Wait a moment and try again.
  • If the app’s sign-in window opens and closes without signing you in, check that your phone isn’t blocking pop-ups or browser windows for the app, then try again.
