Getting started
Create a group
Start a group for your team, troop, class, or family, and become its owner.
Updated July 9, 2026
A group (sometimes called an organization) is the shared space where your members collect photos together. The person who creates it becomes the owner and manages the group’s plan. Groups cannot be created from the mobile apps, so open the Fika web app at app.fikaphotos.com to start.
Where to start a group
Where you go depends on whether you’re already in a group:
- If you’re not in any group yet, the home page shows your options right away. Choose the Create Organization card. (The same page has Join by Invite Link and Search & Join if you meant to join an existing group instead.)
- If you’re already in a group, open the org switcher in the top-left corner of the sidebar (it shows your current group’s name and avatar). Click it to expand, scroll to the bottom of your groups, and choose New group. In the window that opens, pick the Create Organization card.
Set it up
- Give your group a name, like “Riverside Soccer” or “The Chen Family.”
- Pick a plan. A free group is ready to use right away. If you choose the paid plan, a checkout window will open at the end of the flow.
If your checkout fails to complete, don’t worry! Your group was created and will be in a pending-checkout state. Navigate to your new organization’s billing page by clicking on Organization from the main sidebar, then Billing from the options at the top of the page. From there, you can complete your checkout. Note, your group will not be fully usable until you complete checkout. See plans and pricing for more information.
You can own more than one group, but only one of them can be on the free plan. Any additional groups you own use the paid plan.
Creating a group, billing, and ownership transfer all happen on a computer. You can browse and add photos to your groups from the mobile app once the group exists.
Next steps
- Add a logo and make the group your own in its settings.
- Invite your members.
- Add your first photos and organize them into collections.
