What is Photos of Me?

Photos of Me helps you find the pictures you’re in across a group’s collections, without scrolling through every album. It’s optional, and it’s off until you choose to turn it on.

Where to find it

Inside a group, open Photos of Me: on a computer it’s in the left sidebar, and on your phone it’s a tab in the bottom bar. It appears only in groups where the feature is available.

The first time, you’ll see a prompt to Set up recognition, which takes you to add a few photos of yourself. See set up your reference photos.

How it works

Once you set it up, Fika matches your face against new photos added to the group and gathers the ones you appear in under Photos of Me. To use it, three things need to be true: the feature is enabled for the group, you’ve given consent, and you’ve added at least one reference photo. See your biometric privacy.

Fixing a wrong match

Matching won’t always be perfect. If a photo shows up that isn’t you, open it and choose This is not me. Fika removes it from your matches and won’t tag you in that photo again. Additionally, every photo you’re in may not appear in Photos of Me as not every photo uploaded to an organization is eligible. Matching does not run on videos.

It’s yours to control

Photos of Me is opt-in, private to you, and something you can switch off or erase entirely at any time. Your photos are never used to train or improve any model. For the full picture, including where the feature is available, see your biometric privacy.
